Lucía Muñoz Lucena

Muñoz Lucena is a communicator at EntreFronteras, a social production company based in Andalusia that works for national and international news channels, and co-founder of the Andalusian network of feminist communicators (La Poderío). In continuous education, Lucía specialised in migrations and feminisms. Co-director of the TV programme EntreFronteras, a space for the analysis of migrations at a world level, she also collaborates with Pikara Magazine, eldiario.es, El Salto, and Público. Lucía has worked for international media covering information about refugee routes in Greece, Italy, and in the Southern border with Andalusia. She has been onboard the Open Arms and the Women’s boat to Gaza, from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. Lucía has also informed about elections in Greece, France, and Spain, as well as about other political processes such as Brexit or the occupation of Western Sahara. Lucía worked as director of photography in the documentaries Existir es Resistir (2018) and Paralelo 35ª50”, where she was also director of documentation and research. The latter was awarded the Desalambre prize for research journalism, and a special mention at the Human Rights Film Festival of Valencia.

Ruth de Frutos

Ruth de Frutos is a journalist and researcher specialising in human rights and journalism. At the moment, Ruth teaches Journalism at the University of Malaga (UMA) and collaborates with several media, such as La Marea, Pikara Magazine, El Salto, or La Poderia, a project that she co-founded together with seven colleagues. Winner of the Citizen Journalism Award Alberto Almansa in 2018, and finalist in 2020 of the IX Columbia Journalism Award, de Frutos has combined her work as a journalist with her work as an academic. Ruth has a PhD on Journalism from the UMA, as well as two Master’s degrees on Journalism and New Scenarios, and International Cooperation and Development Politics. Ruth coordinated the UNESCO Chair for Research in Communication at the UMA (2016-2020), and she has worked for international organisations such as UNESCO and the International Organisation for Migration, and for NGOs like Article 19.

Cristian Pirovano

Pirovano studied Sociology and Photojournalism at the University of Buenos Aires, in Argentina. He has published journalistic pieces and photographs in national and international media, such as Pikara Magazine, La Marea, and Tercera Información in Spain, FOTO4all in Rumania, and Soy Rock, Rumbos, Contaminación Cero, Travells, El Bondi, La Maga, and Otra Vuelta in Argentina. He has also worked for the rock bands Las Pastillas del Abuelo and Pegaso. Cristian is a member of the Andalusian Union of Journalists, and of the Argentinian Association of Photojournalists. He was director and producer in several documentaries, such as Yallah Yallah, the first official co-production between Argentina and Palestine, Sadiqi, Más grandes que Israel, and África Tango. Cristian founded the magazine Músicas del Mundo, and he has shown his photography exhibitions Palestina por Dentro and Del otro lado del muro in several American and European countries.
